Loading contentTycho Brahe was a Danish nobleman whose obsessive precision transformed observational astronomy. From his island observatory at Uraniborg he measured the positions of stars and planets to within an arc-minute, and his 1572 'new star' showed that the heavens were not immutable. His data, inherited by Kepler, made the laws of planetary motion possible.
