Biography

Robert Wilson, with Arno Penzias, discovered the cosmic microwave background radiation in 1965 using a sensitive horn antenna at Bell Labs. Their accidental detection of the universe's faint afterglow confirmed the Big Bang model and won them the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics.
