Biography

Jane Luu, with David Jewitt, spent five years searching for objects beyond Neptune and in 1992 found the first one, (15760) Albion. Their discovery confirmed the existence of the Kuiper Belt — the vast reservoir of icy bodies that includes Pluto — and reshaped our picture of the outer Solar System.
